Grata Fund supported Doctors4Refugees and Fitzroy Legal Service to remove gag laws under the Border Force Act that prevented health professionals from speaking out about the horrifying conditions on Manus Island and Nauru.
But this law still exists for other staff working at Australia's detention centres. Teachers, lawyers and social workers face up to two years in jail for speaking out.
