Madeleine Burkitt

Senior Campaigns and Communications Advisor

Madeleine Burkitt is a campaigner and strategic communications specialist with more than nine years experience across diverse issue areas.

Before joining Grata Fund, she worked at GetUp as a Senior Campaigner in the Economic Fairness team, where she led campaigns to win a fairer social safety net, advocating to raise the rate of income support and reform punitive, privatised employment services. She also played a key role in the 2022 Federal Election campaign in the successful seat of Lingiari as part of the First Nations Justice Team. Prior to this, Madeleine worked at Greenpeace Australia Pacific and Greenpeace International, where she drove digital engagement for climate justice and ocean protection campaigns. Madeleine began her career at SCARF Refugee Support as a Communications Officer.

Madeleine lives and works on Gadigal and Wangal lands in Sydney, Australia.
