Help First Nations People across the NT access safe drinking water
Water is a life-and-death issue for First Nations communities living in the NT, with many people in remote communities exposed to unsafe drinking water including the uranium-contaminated water in Laramba which is 2.5 times higher than what is considered safe.
It’s not just Laramba, many other remote communities across the NT also have serious issues with the safety and availability of drinking water, which is devastating now, and will become more severe as the climate crisis develops.
The NT Government has failed to agree to a Safe Drinking Water Act to protect the health of First Nations communities and ensure they have access to the safe drinking water like people in the larger towns.
That's why we need your support to keep the pressure on the NT Government by any means available, including through the courts. Your donation will back the Laramba community fight for this most basic human right in the courts with their legal case fight.
-
$50 could fund printing costs;
-
$100 could fund campaign costs;
-
$250 could fund court filing fees; and
-
$500 could fund travel costs for the plaintiffs from Laramba and legal team to get to court.
All donations of $2 and over are tax deductible in Australia.
If we raise more than the cost of this campaign, your donation will be used to help cover the cost of ongoing, important Grata work.
