Lily Velez

Senior Solicitor

Lily is a lawyer who works within the Grata legal team to support strategic public interest litigation across areas of human rights, climate justice and democracy, and Grata’s law reform and advocacy work.

Before joining Grata, Lily worked at the Australian Human Rights Commission where she investigated and conciliated complaints made under federal human rights and discrimination law. Lily began her career working as a lawyer at Mallesons in Financial Regulation & Derivatives. Lily holds a Bachelor of Laws/Bachelor of Communications (Creative Writing) with First Class Honours from UTS.

Lily lives and works on Gadigal land in Sydney, Australia.
